Overview
Old Kent Road is a major route in South East London and part of the A2, the major road from London to Dover. The road is used by thousands of motorists, pedestrians and commuters every week, so ensuring it is well-lit as well as safe and compliant, is extremely important. As part of our ongoing works with TFL on behalf of multiple main contractors, we undertook the street lighting LED upgrade on this stretch of the A2.
Scope
This upgrade saw our teams working over-night to minimise disruption, with basic traffic management to ensure safety and compliance. We replaced the columns themselves as well as upgrading the heads to LEDs in order to improve energy efficiency and light distribution. This is part of an ongoing contract along similar roads throughout London.
